Always a fan of the late and great Ed "Big Daddy" Roth,
I had the magnet set on my refrigerator and just couldn't take it
any more! I had to see it come to life! Big Daddy will forever live
on in the hearts of all those who have a thirst for the deranged!
- The original concept
behind Swank Island at eBachelorpad, the virtual pad ( Sammy Swank's
Home on Swank Island ) incorporates a Flash room to room click through
that combines online entertainment and marketing by displaying products
in an appealing way and sometimes funny way to our target demographic.
Visit Sam's bachelor getaway. A place to place
click thru with lots of rooms and things to see. Includes a lighthouse,
surf spot, ski resort, clubhouse, airport, a rocket pad, and the Virtual
Pad ( See above ).
- This cartoon could not be shown on eBachelorpad for legal reasons
as it contains images of Hef, Sean Connery & Frank Sinatra. It
was created to define the essence of Sam's character. It's one of
my favorites next to the Farmer's Blow.
- This was the "theatre" section
of the eBachelorpad site, wherein a new cartoon was to be added every
week starring Mr. Swank and his cast of characters. Cartoons were
based on the site's product sections as well as just a " swanky
guy appeal". The idea was to motivate "guys" to come
back to the site on a weekly basis.
Using a Fred Flintstone
type character, I animated an intro into a dynamic website section
where sales representatives can enter their sales and win gifts or
possibly a trip to Hawaii. The animation was conceived by the client
and created by Studio531.com. Not bad for a rush job. Studio531 also
did the html layout for all the section pages. Make sure to turn your
sound up for the Blue Hawaii! Project completed July 18, 2001.
- I was completely
mesmerized by this painting being used in an American Express advertisement
in a entertainment magazine ( I can't remember which one ). I don't
know the painter's name, but I looked at this for such a long time
that I felt compelled to briefly animate it. Perhaps it was my infactuation
with sharks or just the tension the painting creates. If the painter/owner
is out there and sees this, please have them contact
me since I don't have permission to use the painting.
- My first animated "Quotoon".
While the majority of my work on Quotoons is dedicated to ink on bristol
and directed towards seeking newspaper syndication, I have some drawings
that lend themselves well to animation for the internet. Please visit
my Quotoons site at: www.quotoons.com
- This
is my first full length animation show I did using Flash 2.0. Coconuttz
& Blotterboy were comic strip characters I created for a series
of comics I developed in a cartooning class I had over at Orange Coast
College. My professor called "Epic" at the time, but I think
it didn't take long for it to not be "Epic" anymore
as Flash became more and more popular.
Originally
produced for eBachelorpad as the website mascot and site identity
character, Sammy now takes on a life of his own in this stylish and
"swanky" little flash movie. Temporarily
Disabled. Be sure to check out the previous
episodes of Sammy Swank or visit Swank
Island .
The Schmerb is a subtle take on the power
of the mind vs. the power of the soul. Still
under construction, this animation project has been very
well written and will certainly spawn some reflection on life in the
21st century.
- This is the first Flash
animation I ever did. I did it using Flash 2.0 on MacIntosh computer
at Orange Coast College in 1997. It's pretty weird and I remember
my teacher just looking at it thinking I was just that. I don't have
the source file for it any more (lost) so no touch ups have ever been
made.
